Music I listen to
Josh Groban, Natalie MacMaster, Leahy, Classical (Beethoven, Vivaldi, and Bach are my favourites), 80's, swing...My tastes jump all over the place but I
basically like any music that either makes me sigh, cry, or dance.
TV shows I watch
Corner Gas, Survivorman, Road to Avonlea, Whose Line is it Anyway, Wayne and Shuster, Little House on the Prairie, Sherlock Holmes (with Jeremy Brett).
Interesting facts about me
There's nothing majorly interesting about me that you'd need to know. I'm pretty much your typical
"I've-been-homeschooled-all-my-life-and-have-somehow-avoided-becoming-overly-sheltered-but-am-still-pretty-shy" kind of girl. I'm a lot more
chatty and outgoing on the internet than in real life. I guess it's because I can express my thoughts a lot better through writing than through talking. I
have played the violin about four years now, and piano since I was little. What else....I'm from Canada, and yes, I love hockey and I do say "eh"
occasionally. I love cold weather - the colder the better! But I also enjoy hot summer days. Here's some other oddities about me:
Hobbies: Violin/fiddle, piano, painting, drawing, reading, ballroom dance, gardening, watching hockey...
Favourite movies: Rocky series; The Russians are Coming! The Russians are Coming!; It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World; The Gods Must Be Crazy 1 and 2; Any of the old classics and musicals; anything with Gary Cooper and Jimmy Stewart; The Lord of the Rings; Rudy; Disney movies; The Sound of Music.
Favourite food: Canadian Chinese, Italian, soft ice cream, anything with chocolate and/or cream cheese.
Favourite authors: Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Agatha Christie, Lucy Maud Montgomery, Zane Grey, Louis de Wohl.
Heroes: The saints - their example has helped me through so many tough times. Donnel Leahy - it is my dream to someday play as good as him. Even though that dream may never be accomplished, I still greatly admire his awesome fiddling skills. Terry Fox - if you've never heard about him, LOOK HIM UP! His story is amazing and has always inspired me. Josh Groban - his sense of humor, his generosity, his devotion and ability to share his gift, really touches me. I long to be as generous as him. My violin instructor, Rebecca Vopni - I honestly can't imagine how I could have accomplished all that I have if it hadn't been for her constantly shoving me on stage! Seriously, in these past three years she has helped me achieve so many dreams. And my family, who has always been there for me, through the good and the bad.
